8mm Film to DVD conversion: The Era of Short Films is Over

8 mm films belong to the genre of narrow films. These are all films with a bandwidth of less than 35 millimeters. There are very different versions of the 8 mm film. Do you even know which format your 8 mm films belong to? We have summarized a small overview for you: 8 mm films , also called regular 8 or N8, have relatively large, single-row perforations at the edge of the band, located above the boundary between two frames. The picture windows are 4.5 mm wide and 3.3 mm high. This format had its wedding from the market introduction by Kodak in the year 1932 to the replacement by the Super 8 film 1965, after that normal 8 was used only rarely.
